The Good Life

The "Good Life" to me consists of having a roof over my head, clothes on my body, food in my mouth, a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of. Therefor I never take these things for granted. All of the above are necessities for everyday living, but there are people all over the world that dont even have them. The "Good Life" is being able to educate yourself limitless and to be able to practice what ever religion you want. The "Good Life" is growing old with your family and close friends.

I feel that I am already living a good life. My standards for a good life is no more than the following necessities I mentioned in the paragraph above. Society has us so wrapped up in wanting all these things but in all actuality we dont really need them. Who says that we have to keep up with the Joneses to live a good life, because we dont.

Education is the key to success, so I feel that as long as I continue to educate myself and obtain numerous degrees, I would be able to live beyond the good life. Matter fact I am tired of living the good life. I want to live the great life. Its nothing wrong with renting but I want to own. Theres nothing wrong with working for someone else but I want to be the boss. Theres nothing wrong with shopping at Armani Exchange but I want to shop at Hermes. Theres nothing wrong with driving a Honda Accord but I want to drive a Range Rover.

Everyone should be entitled to the good life but not everyone will get to live the great life. In this case my mind has supersede the good life and is already preparing for the great life. Im not saying that I want to be filthy rich because we all know that money is the root of all evil and the more you have the more problems. Since I feel like Im living the good life now I want to make progress. This doesnt mean that you have to do the same. A lot of people are content with the basic necessities. I believe in growth so I dont make myself feel at home often. I am always on the move.

  1. sup Ayana,
this was the funniest post I've read so far.I'm not sure if you would want to throw your "pot of piss" out the window, because you might rain on someones parade and mess up their good life.I like the shopping comparison,it was funny.Don't worry I'm sure if you further your education Hermes will be as casual as Walmart!

  2. Maybe when you have a taste of the great life the good life will seem more attractive. Maybe not. I own my own house and it gives me great satisfaction. I would not want to go back to living in a little rental.
